File contains sixteen negatives taken by Barwick at an excavation at Beach Grove in the Fraser River delta in June of 1957, likely done under the guidance of Charles Borden, a Lecturer and later Professor of Archaeology at UBC who studied the Beach Grove site from ca. 1955 to 1958. Notes on the envelope indicate these negatives include images of D. N. Abbott, Colin McCafferty, and Nansi Swayze.

This file contains letters from Herb Taylor to Wilson Duff and Harry Hawthorn. In the letter to Duff, Taylor seeks feedback on a map to be included in the publication "Tribal Distribution of the Lower Northwest Coast".

The letter to Hawthorn concerns fieldwork and library research that Taylor performed under the direction of Hawthorn, as well as a list of proposed publications based on this research. In the latter, Taylor discusses extensive archaeological excavations that were undertaken on Vancouver and Quadra Islands. Taylor notes that notes and maps from the excavations were turned over to the Howay-Reid collection at UBC, with copies of fieldnotes sent to the BC Provincial Museum, the National Museum in Ottawa, and to Charles Borden at UBC. Taylor also undertook ethnological interviews with the Wei Wai Kai First Nation at Cape Mudge, and indicates that tapes were sent to Duff at the BC Provincial Museum and a report provided to Hawthorn at UBC. This file contains a report on excavations at Marpole [c̓əsnaʔəm] prepared for the course Anthropology 401. It describes the work of Charles Borden and five students, and refers to the content of fellow students' reports. Duff describes the purpose of the project as being to reconstruct the cultural context of the site's former inhabitants.

The report describes environmental context at length, and also discusses site history and context at the time of the excavation. Ancestral remains and objects removed from the site are listed, including analysis of ancestral remains. Sketches include two maps of the immediate area with streets and property lines indicated. A third sketch provides a West-facing profile of the excavation with strata.

This file contains correspondences between Trisha Gessler and Wilson Duff, as well as a copy of an application for permit for archaeological excavations completed by Nicholas Gessler. The correspondences were sent by Trisha Gessler from multiple European and North American cities where she was visiting museums to search out Northwest Coast collections, with a specific focus on the works of Haida artists Charles and Isabella Edenshaw, Tom Price, and Bill Reid. Gessler makes references to several objects at MOA in discussing similar works she encountered. Two envelopes, one with eight (8) negatives of bentwood boxes and tulips and two (2) prints of bentwood box taken in Rotterdam at the Museum voor Land- en Volkenkunde, as described by the letter that precedes them in the file. The final item is Nicholas Gessler's (1973) application for permit under the Archaeological and Historic Sites Preservation Act. It details his proposal to conduct studies at Kiusta village on Haida Gwaii, and includes letters from Bruce Brown, Chief Band Councillor at Masset, and Rose Bell, home school coordinator for Masset Band Council.
